| Freon® 22, an HCFC also known as R-22, is a widely
used refrigerant. Because it has been deemed harmful to the environment
and specifically the earth's ozone layer, it is being phased out. Puron® refrigerant, also
known as R-410A, is approved by the EPA to replace Freon® 22. |

| What This Means |
| |
| Most of of the residences in the USA today
that have air conditioning or heat pump products use Freon®
22. That means a potentially high demand for the product will
increase prices as production decreases. Since the average age of
an AC system is 12-15 years, during the lifetime
of an air conditioning system purchased today, R-22 will become
obsolete and the manufacture of R-22 banned. |
| |
| We therefore recommend to our customers
that serious consideration be given to purchasing Puron®-based
products rather than Freon®-based products. By choosing to purchase
an air conditioner or heat pump with Puron® refrigerant,
you begin saving money right away and avoid the potentially higher service
costs later. |
